08. Final setup

Finishing or fine tuning of the instrument. During the gluing process, the tension of the entire shell changes slightly due to the shrinkage of the glue and the pressure of the clamps, and our tuned notes are slightly out of tune.

This setup step is very important and very difficult. It requires special skills and more time to master. Because access to music fields is now limited. Some of the tuning process will be done from the outside, but some strikes will have to be done from inside the instrument using the sound hole on the bottom shell of the body. These blows are made by touch - blindly.

Now comes the best part of making the Handpan.

We take off the headphones, wipe down the instrument and enjoy the first touch of the newly created instrument and the amazing sounds that come from playing it.

I still remember the incredible feeling when I touched the first instrument I created.
